LAKSH GUPTA

Hi!

I am a Master of Science student in Astrophysics at the Argelander Institute of Astronomy, University of Bonn, Germany. Currently, I am writing my Master's thesis on modelling gas stripping in galaxies in the cosmic web under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Cristiano Porciani and Dr. Mohammadreza (Reza) Ayromlou.

Prior to this, I carried out my undergraduate thesis work titled Study of White Dwarfs in the Globular Cluster NGC2808 (link), under Dr. Samyaday Choudhury (Ahmedabad University, India) and in collaboration with Dr. Annalisa Calamida (Space Telescope Science Institute, USA). The extension of this work is now published and can be accessed here at Gupta et al. 2025.

In 2025, I studied the accretion mechanisms in Herbig Ae/Be Stars using the radiative transfer code, RADMC3D, under the supervision of Dr. Blesson Mathew (Christ University, India).

Outside of my academic work, I enjoy playing badminton and exploring Bonn (atleast for now) on cycle. My scientific interests include globular clusters, galaxy formation and evolution, galaxy clusters and groups, large-scale structure and numerical simulations.
